We couldn’t put in words how much we benefitted from our talk yesterday. For me it almost opened
up another door to how good education could be. Not only we concretely felt the gap between
‘documented babysitting’ and child development, but also I personally realized a huge gap between
the theory I have read and the practical application. Often as parents we get worried about things
that doesn’t fit with external expectations, but neglect things that are truly important.
There are many things to be learnt on our side and many more mistakes to be made as parents, I’m

It was wonderful to meet Nicola today, and to come and see the nursery and meet the staff. My
mother-in-law and I were really struck by the wonderful atmosphere of the nursery – all the children
seemed to be so content and it was great to see the staff so engaged with the children. I really got
the sense that the staff weren’t just supervising the children (as I have observed at other nursery)
but were completely involved in their one to one or group activities and giving them all their
attention and everything was so child focussed. The diversity of activities on offer, with the lovely
location of the church and gardens and the space it offers compliments the Montessori teaching so
perfectly. It was by far the best nursery we have seen yet and we would love to register W. for a
place starting in September 2021.

We are delighted with F’s two years at St. Andrew’s Montessori. He has been encouraged to develop his strengths at his pace and has learnt so much. Leaving is rather sad for all of us as St. Andrew’s has a warm place in our hearts as having provided a wonderfully gentle, loving and fun learning experience for both our boys as they begin their education journey. All the teachers and other staff we have interacted with, (which I think is just about everyone), have been fantastic and we will be sorry come September when it is no longer a part of our day.
Our massive heart-felt thanks for the wonderful foundation the school has given her in life and for the excellent care she has received.
I know I say this often, but I wanted to say it again how so very instrumental the wonderful teachers and the nurturing environment created at your lovely little school has been in her development. These early years are so very important and formative, especially when developmental challenges arise. We have both received the much-needed guidance and understanding at every step, truly feel so very fortunate St Andrew’s has been a part of our journey and I can’t thank you or praise you all enough.

I just want to write to thank you very much for the time and effort you spent to personally show me around on my visit to the Montessori.
I was a little lost for words at the time, but the nursery is simply beyond outstanding in every respect. There was such a lovely balance of a relaxed and focussed atmosphere. Each child was doing something interesting, practical, individually appropriate, and exploring so many senses. I could see enormous thought and attention put into the surroundings, the dimensions of each space, how teachers relate to each student down to standard of vocabulary and the register of speech used, the sequencing and timings of activities. There was a wonderful balance of individual and group activities.
Your powers of persuasion on the children are nothing short of magical! The happy welcoming atmosphere really brings the best out of them. I was astonished to see the theory of constructive “learning by doing” actually being out in pratice, with every single child. Every teacher clearly had such an awareness of each student’s needs and development, and how each activity is contributing to their overall development.
Thank you again for your time, every day I think back on my visit with great joy and excitement, and I simply can not imagine a better nursery for our son.

He was so giddy this morning on our way to nursery and he could not get there fast enough. He then ran straight into Lottie’s arms and gave her a big hug! He’s had a (lovely!) childminder for the past 8 months and has never done that!

I have to say we feel so lucky that we found such an amazingly nurturing environment for our two boys for their start to school/independent life (and thank you all for never pointing out it might actually have been me that found it hard for them to be independent rather than them). The school, its philosophy but most of all its individual teachers and staff have had such a positive impact on my children, it would be really heart warming for you to hear some of the many things they tell us about their time with you all. That my child still has such strong and happy memories – even down to specific conversations he had with you Nici – is a testament to you and the school. Goodness only knows how my child is going to cope…

I hope you’re well and that St Andrew’s is going from strength to strength. I’m sure it must be frustrating when children leave you and you then don’t hear how they have got on thereafter – I apologise that we have allowed William to fall into that category. Anyway I thought you would like a quick update.
William is now 12 (Year 7) and is a really lovely boy. He did his senior school pre-tests last year and got places at Westminster and St Paul’s, together with an Academic Scholarship to City of London. In terms of extracurricular interests, he is a good cricketer and tennis player and has had County trials for both. He won his school’s Chess Trophy last year and also enjoys hockey, football and the piano.
St Andrew’s was an excellent start for him and provided him with a perfect, gentle introduction to education in a calm and happy environment. Thanks again for everything you and St Andrew’s did in helping Billy to turn out as he has.

What a wonderful start to life our 3 children have had. We feel so lucky to have given them this opportunity. It’s all thanks to your lovely nursery and the love and encouragement given by wonderful staff. We will miss you.

For all you have done – thank you so much. Thomas has had a wonderful time at St. Andrew’s, where learning and maturing has been fun, exciting and inspiring. We will all miss you so much and our enduring memory will be Thomas running to the blue door every morning with a big grin as he looked forward to the day ahead.
