World Book Day is always a highlight at St Andrew’s Montessori and, as always, this year’s celebration was filled with imagination, laughter and wonderful stories!
The children arrived dressed as an array of beloved characters – the Queen of Hearts, Elmer Elephant, Gerald Giraffe, Zog’s Princess Pearl (to name but a few) and there may even have been a few magical witches flying through the nursery. Not to be outdone, some of our teachers embraced the fun with unmistakable Dr Seuss energy, much to the children’s delight.
“A special trip to the library added to the excitement. The children wandered through the shelves, discovering new stories, asking thoughtful questions and choosing books that sparked their curiosity.”
These experiences help nurture independence and a genuine love of books. World Book Day is more than a themed dressup event; it is a reminder of the power of books to inspire, comfort and connect us. By celebrating stories together – at home, at school and in the wider community – we help children develop strong language skills, rich imaginations and a lifelong appreciation for reading.
