Our Session Structure
St. Andrew’s Montessori operates as a term-time only setting for 34 weeks per year. We accept Early Years Funding through Islington Council in line with the Local Authority Provider Agreement.
We operate on a Monday to Friday only basis. We do not offer ad-hoc or part-week attendance. All children finish at 12:00pm on Fridays.

Government-Funded Early Education
We deliver the following funded entitlements as set out by Islington Council:
Universal 15 Hours (3 & 4 year olds)
All children are entitled to 15 funded hours per week for 38 weeks per year from the term after their third birthday. This is known as the Universal Entitlement and parents do not need to apply, St. Andrew’s Montessori will claim this directly from Islington Council.
Working Parent Entitlement (15/ 30 Hours)
Eligible children can receive 15 or 30 hours support under the Working Parents Entitlements, for more information please click here.
Additionally, and depending on personal circumstances, the Working Parent Entitlements for children from the term after the child turns 9 months gives 30 hours per week, up to 1140 hours a year. Apply for working parent entitlements and tax-free childcare through the government website.
Two-year-olds, where families are receiving additional government support, may be eligible for 15 hours a week. Apply at www.islington.gov.uk/free2.The opening times of St. Andrew’s Montessori enable Working Parent Entitlements for up to 28.25 hrs per week, the remaining 1.75hrs of entitlement can be utilised for other support outside of St. Andrew’s Montessori.
Two-Year-Old Funding
Two-year-olds are entitled to 15 funded hours if their family receives certain benefits or support.with an authorised code you would be eligible to free 15hrs funded hours and if your code allows it, free 30hrs funded hours.

How Funding Works in Our Term-Time Setting
Government funding is provided over 38 weeks per year. As St. Andrew’s Montessori funded hours cover our schools academic year in accordance with Islington’s funding model.
Funded-Only Places
Parents choosing to access funded hours only (without paying for additional hours = £0) may attend:
Time (15hrs): Morning Sessions – 09:00am – 12:00pm Monday to Friday
Time (30hrs): Full time – 09:00am – 15:00pm Monday-Thursday, 09:00am to 12:00 Friday
Any hours taken outside funded time are charged at our standard fee rates. These funded only places are subject to availability. Please contact the Saint Andrew Montessori’s Principal directly via email or telephone to discuss further.
Voluntary Additional Charges (Permitted by Islington)
In line with Islington’s Early Years Funding Agreement, we do not charge for funded hours, but we may charge for:
These charges are voluntary and are not a condition of accessing a funded place. Parents can discuss our policy on opting out of paying for voluntary addition charges with Saint Andrew Montessori’s Principal.
