Museum trips in London!

School trips play an important role in Montessori education, offering children real-world experiences that deepen their understanding and spark meaningful curiosity. Recently, the children at St Andrew’s Montessori enjoyed enriching visits to both the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum – two iconic spaces that are brilliant inspiration for an enquiring mind.

At the Science Museum, the children were captivated by the interactive exhibits. They experimented with light, sound and movement, eagerly pressing buttons, testing mechanisms, and observing cause and effect in action.

“These hands-on moments encouraged them to think like young scientists – forming ideas, testing hypotheses and discovering that science is something they can actively participate in.”

Their adventure continued at the Natural History Museum, where the sense of wonder began the moment they stepped into the grand hall. Towering skeletons and carefully curated displays sparked big conversations about animals and life long ago. The dinosaur gallery, always a favourite, invited the children to imagine the prehistoric world as they observed enormous bones and intricate specimens up close.

Throughout both visits, the children demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm. They excitedly shared discoveries with one another and asked thoughtful questions, connecting museum experiences with their classroom learning.

With accessible, relatable hands-on science, these museum trips continue to offer unforgettable opportunities for exploration at St Andrew’s Montessori.
