Introducing the Pink Tower

The Pink Tower is made up of 10 pink wooden cubes ranging from 1 cm³ to 10 cm³. This activity is found in the Sensorial Area of our school. The main aim of the Pink Tower is to encourage a child to visually notice a difference in height, length and width. It also helps the child to practice being careful as they build the tower and to enhance their hand/eye coordination.

A child is shown by the teacher how to build the tower and then it is up to the child to build and experiment on their own. During the presentation of this exercise the teacher will use words such as big, smaller, and largest to stimulate the child’s vocabulary. Some children like to call it the Princess Tower.
